You can spend money in Pesos and US Dollars at most locations. Currency exchanges vary so even if you are out of class for a week, you still cannot forget how to do your math so you know what you are really paying for somethine.
There are many resorts in Mexico to have a great springbreak: Cancun, Mazatlan, Cabo, Cozumel, Acapulco.
You will need your U.S.Passport AND photographic identification, such as a driver's license to enter Mexico. Check with your travel company.
